As one of only 2 Naturopathic Physicians in Ohio who have experience practicing as a primary care physician, Dr. Tamara is one of those rare practitioners who holds degrees in both Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture. Her medical training underscores her belief in the importance of integrating medical knowledge from Eastern, Western and global healing traditions, along with the most recent science-based information, in order to help her patients.
Dr. Tamara is a graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, one of the world’s leading academic centers for advancing knowledge in the natural health sciences and natural medicine. The first 2 years of her education is comparable to that of a conventional medical student. Students of both schools have comparable class schedules, including studies of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, etc. The remaining 2 years of study is where naturopathic medical training branches from that of conventional medical schools. Students study Botanical medicine, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic medicine, Physical medicine; and some students extend their studies to include natural childbirth, acupuncture and/or Chinese herbs.
